The Unjust Shall Live by Unfaithfulness

Paul begins a series of passages which have as their purpose to show that the unjust shall live by unfaithfulness. As we have seen, Paul does not take Atheism seriously. He rejects it as a serious option. It is a fool who hath said in his heart that there is no God. Atheism is an intellectual subterfuge by which the moral problem is disguised. Man has an inescapable knowledge of God which he holds or suppresses in unrighteousness, in injustice.
