The Plague of Blood

By R. J. Rushdoony

The first plague upon Egypt turned the waters of the Nile and all the water streams and pools of Egypt into blood. Blood signifies life according to Leviticus 17:11-14 but it also signifies death. Blood is shed to make the covenant or to cut the covenant and the blood of the covenant signifies life to all faithful members but it also sets forth death, judgment on the faithless to the covenant.
