Religion & the State

Today we do not find any agreement on either the part of the church or the state that a Christian social order is the necessary one. As a matter of fact, the state has no desire today to have a Christian social order. It is strongly resentful of any such claim by any group of Christians. So that the state is going off in one direction, quietly establishing a humanistic society, and the church over here is still imagining that the state is neutral.
