Church as Witness

Our concern in the doctrine of the church is less with the church as an institution and more with the church as a witness, and also the church as evidence of the life and work of the triune God in history. The church must be a witness to and evidence of the victorious and saving Christ. The church must also be an institution, but if it is only an institution, it ceases to be the body of Christ.
